Something I learned form the killers band -The awesome thing about poetry is that It can be interpreted many ways, be very powerful, and be right. If you write abstract feeling and you have the skill to covey it so that the reader feels something than it doesn't mater what the reader interprets it as ...as long as you've touched them in some way.
Listen to the killers "good night travel well"* and you'll no what I mean. Even if you have a specific idea when writing.
