Toy Story...

Posted by sherockachild22 - October 20th, 2008

The other day i was walking past 2 of my friends having a discussion about not keeping in touch and what not.
One of these friends is moving away at the end of the year and said she wouldn't keep in touch because there are more people out there that she will meet... blah blah blah..
Anyway, as i walked past something was said and i replied,
"no she wont miss me, i am replacable, there are a million other people out there like me, like my minions except i didn't create them, they just are."

So anyway, the my friends try to convince me other wise but it doesn't seem to work.

Back to what i'm trying to get at....

My little sister is watching the toy story movie, one of my childhood favourites.
And now kind of listening to it i have an understanding of one of the points to it.

Everything is replacable, but not everything is forgettable..
There are always going to be flavours of the month, and your not going to always be the flavour.

its andy's birthday, and andy gets this new toy, buzz...
and he becomes andy's new favorite toy, and woody is moved from his spot on the bed and placed int he toy box.
This drives woody mad, and he pushes buzz out the window..
makeing the rest of the toys, who have taken a liking to buzz, push woody out the window.
but in the end, andy just wants his 2 toys back, he misses them both, he never forgets about them.

i don't think my point has beed proven but i just wanted to write about toy story.

One of my favorite lines in a Miyazaki movie was...

"Nothing is ever really forgotten...we just can't remember it yet."

Lucky you there is a full English Sub Version of Spirited Away on Youtube.
I would suggest watching it soon...it's "really" good.

Spirited Away [eng sub 1/13]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N0RXF VkTfE

The movie demonstrates several things...

Greed
Losing Self-Control
Self-Sacrifice
Remembrance
Friendship

All with Japanese Myths and Legends pack in it.
____________

But back to my point...true...we will make "new" friends...but the remembrance of true friendship and their acts of kindness is never forgotten...even when we can't remember it right away.

If a person "refuse" to keep in touch...they must not be very good friends. They just want to adapt a new identity...and forget the past. That's no good.

A true friend is like a Silver Dollar...have I mentioned that parable before?

If you have True Friends...they would "want" to keep in touch.

Don't worry about them...for true friends will be there...even if you haven't met them yet.

I miss that movie

I feel really sad about her moving, and the worst part is, she doesnt really seem to care that she's leaving us behind. It makes me real sad...

Yes, i will miss her.
No, but wy should we expect her to?
i'm glad she is doing what she wants though.
Although we are the ones left behind. :)
